unixframe.com is operated by Suleman Raza, trading as UnixFrame, based in Barcelona, Spain. For anything in this policy you can write to [email protected].

Suleman Raza is the data controller for this website under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

Nothing you enter into the converters leaves your device. Every conversion on this site is performed by JavaScript running in your browser — there is no server call, so the timestamps and dates you paste are never transmitted, logged or stored by us.

This is also why the tools keep working with no network connection once a page has loaded.

Two small values are saved in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device, are not cookies, and are never sent to us or to anyone else:

• unixframe-theme — whether you chose the light or dark theme.
• unixframe-consent — your answer to the analytics and advertising cookie question, so you are not asked again on every page.

Both are strictly necessary to provide a preference you asked for, so they do not require consent. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.

Requests to unixframe.com reach Cloudflare before they reach us. Cloudflare provides the content delivery network, the TLS connection and protection against denial-of-service attacks, and to do that it processes connection data — your IP address, the page requested and your browser’s user agent — at the network location nearest you. Cloudflare acts as our processor, and describes its own handling of that data at cloudflare.com/gdpr.

Behind Cloudflare the site runs on a virtual private server rented from Hostinger (HOSTINGER, UAB, Lithuania). The server keeps standard request logs. Both providers process this data only to deliver the site and keep it secure and available; the legal basis is the operator’s legitimate interest in running a working, secure website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

Because Cloudflare runs a global network, and because Hostinger offers server locations both inside and outside Europe, your connection data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Both providers cover those transfers with the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, and Cloudflare is additionally certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Our own request logs are rotated and deleted after 30 days. They are never used to build a profile of you, are not combined with any other data, and are not shared with anyone beyond the two providers named above. Cloudflare and Hostinger each keep their own infrastructure and security logs under their own retention rules.

With your agreement we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tools people use and which pages need work. It sets cookies (_ga and _ga_<id>) and processes your IP address, approximate location, device and browser, and the pages you visit.

What we never send is anything you type into a converter. The events we record are limited to which tool was used, which output format was copied, and which unit the parser detected — categories, never values. The timestamps and dates you paste stay in your browser, exactly as described above.

Nothing is loaded and no cookie is set until you accept. Your consent is the legal basis (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) and you can withdraw it at any time — see below. Google Analytics data may be processed outside the EEA under Standard Contractual Clauses and Google’s EU–US Data Privacy Framework certification. You can also block it for every site with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

This site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set and read cookies or similar identifiers on your device to serve, personalise, cap and measure ads, and to detect fraud.

None of that happens until you agree to it. If you are in the EEA or the UK you are asked before any advertising script is loaded, and choosing Reject means it is never loaded at all. The converters work identically either way. Your consent is the legal basis (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), and you may withdraw it at any time — see below.

Google’s own explanation of how it uses data from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can control ad personalisation across Google products at adssettings.google.com.

To change your answer, clear this site’s data in your browser — the consent question will be asked again on your next visit. Rejecting stops both the analytics and the advertising scripts from loading at all; cookies already set by Google can be removed through your browser’s cookie settings.

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to request access to your personal data, its correction or erasure, restriction of or objection to its processing, and data portability, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out beforehand.

Because this site holds no account and no profile of you, in most cases the only personal data connected to your visit is in the hosting logs described above. Requests go to [email protected], and are answered within one month as the GDPR requires.

If you believe your data has been handled improperly you can complain to a supervisory authority. In Spain that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es); in the UK it is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

This site is a developer utility and is not directed at children. No content is aimed at them and no age information is collected.

If this policy changes, the revised version is published on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes to advertising or tracking will be accompanied by a fresh consent request.
